Dancor Construction supports Element5’s $107 million expansion in St. Thomas, Ontario. The project more than doubles the facility’s size from 130,000 to 350,000 SF, increases production capacity from 50,000 to 100,000 cubic meters of CLT and Glulam annually, adds 150 jobs, and includes a new automated Glulam line and a two-storey office built using CLT produced on-site.

$107 Million Facility Expansion Doubles Size, Boosts Jobs, and Advances Sustainable Mass Timber Manufacturing

St. Thomas, Ontario – September 17, 2025 – Dancor Construction is proud to be the builder behind Element5's $107 million expansion in St. Thomas, Ontario. This investment more than doubles the facility’s size from 130,000 to over 350,000 square feet and increases production capacity from 50,000 to 100,000 cubic meters annually of cross-laminated timber (CLT) and glued-laminated timber (Glulam).

The expansion will create 150 new jobs, bringing Element5’s workforce to over 325 employees. The project is supported by an $8 million investment from the Government of Ontario through the Invest Ontario fund, reinforcing the province’s commitment to sustainable manufacturing and economic growth.

Element5’s St. Thomas plant is Ontario's first certified CLT manufacturer and plays a pivotal role in meeting the growing demand for sustainable building materials in North America. The expansion includes a new fully automated Glulam production line and a two-storey, 18,000-square-foot office built using CLT produced on-site.
